CAST: Bobby Approved (v 3.2)

the ABILITY to

Enable

Imagine having the ability to give a bird its wings so it can fly. Or, giving children imagination so they can flourish.

There are approximately 250,000 individuals with special needs and seniors in Calgary, 55,000 are estimated to be children with special needs. The Ability Society assists 1500 individuals per year, of which 500 of them are children.

Our goal is to ensure that all children and adults with special needs and seniors have the opportunity to gain a higher quality of life and become active participants in their community. We achieve this goal by providing specially adapted equipment and strategies, which allows these individuals to pursue opportunities in areas such as citizenship, education, living independently, or volunteerism.

Our Commitment to the Community

All of the equipment and resources at the Ability Society are available to trial in house or borrow on a short-term loan. Our services are accessible to everyone who needs them, and anyone can refer a person with a special needs or a senior to the Ability Society.

Friends Movement

The Ability Society grows again. We've launched a new initiative called Friends. Friends enables us to expand our vision and ability to support by - inspiring connections, building community and driving powerful, positive, social change.
