FRIENDS INTERNATIONAL – A SPECIAL VOLUNTEER PROJECT

The goal is to develop the community of Chamcar Bai in southwest Cambodia into a fully sustainable community. Chamcar Bai is ly the village that was the last stand of the Khmer Rouge and therefore has been one of the last to enter into focused genocide recovery. The village of Chamcar Bai has approximately 1100 residents and is spread over 20 kilometers.

To meet these needs, Ability Society volunteers will work on and contribute to a variety of projects, including: community center and education buildings construction and/or renovations, development of organic gardens, reforestation, fish farm construction, harvest co-op buildings, beekeeping operations, animal buildings (chickens, pigs, cows), supply of animals and supply of water and sanitation systems.

Adrian Bohach will be in Cambodia in late February 2008, we look forward to his pictures and a report of the project.
