Voiceability

VoiceAbility is a voice-recognition training program for adults with a special needs. It is designed to teach individuals how to use voice recognition software for purposes such as education, employment, volunteerism or leisure. The program provides individuals with a special needs the opportunity to expand on their knowledge of computers and computer programs to assist in becoming an independent, active member in their community.

VoiceAbility is a two-week course, which covers the use of NaturallySpeaking, a continuous speech recognition software, ergonomics and troubleshooting techniques. With a thorough understanding of the software, students can expect a minimum typing speed of 45 words per minute with above 85% accuracy. In some cases, students have reached speeds of 160 words per minute.
